September 11, 2001, in New York CIty started out as
a crystal clear and sunny day. But when the first hijacked plane
hit the north tower of the World Trade Center at 8:48 am, the morning
turned from perfection to tragedy. The following photographs were
taken by LRA staff photographer Sam Hollenshead on the morning of
September 11 and in the days following the deadly terrorist attacks
which claimed nearly 3,000 lives.
